PerpetuSeal™ Logo

PerpetuSeal™ is a cured-n-place fiberglass liner that extends from the frame down to the bottom of the manhole chimney. It is monolithic and is hand installed in the same ways as our full depth liner PerpetuWall™. The seal does not depend on any mechanical locks and is completely bonded to the host structure. The seal is effective at stopping infiltration, exfiltration, and corrosion. The seal can be installed in any manhole, there are no limitations to shape or size. PerpetuSeal™ is a permanent solution versus mechanical seals and paint on seals at preventing infiltration, exfiltration, and corrosion.

PerpetuSeal™ has the advantage of being completely bonded to the structure over mechanical seals. Mechanical seals depend on straps to hold the seal in place. These straps are under great stresses when installed and suffer from metal fatigue and then fail. The caustic environment in the manholes corrode these straps and accelerate their deterioration so they may fail quickly after installation. This is true of even stainless steel, it can also be corroded by the environment. This is the primary weak point of mechanical seals, and makes them a poor choice for long term protection.

Coatings do not fare any better then mechanical seals. Regardless of what type of coating, (epoxy, polyurethane, polyurea,...) all coatings suffer form one major issue. The issue is that they rely on the host structure for much of their integrity. When exposed to infiltration, vibrations and thermal expansion and contraction coatings frequently fail as they have relatively low structural integrity of their own. This is not always the case but it is the norm versus the exception.

PerpetuSeal™ is effective in that it has the structural integrity required, bonds completely to the host structure, and is completely corrosion resistant. The fiberglass is the key to its success. The fiberglass not only adds considerable strength to the epoxy it also helps distribute to load. PerpetuSeal™ has an advantage over its rival cured-in-place fiberglass seals in that it is not a pre-made solution that has to be produced to the exact measurements of the structure which can lead to wrong sized materials nor is a one size fits all solution that it expanded to fit the structure resulting in weak points. PerpetuSeal™ is designed on site to ensure that there are no weak points and no wrinkles or voids between the liner and the manhole.
